About Me

Hi, I’m Ian Tarter. I’m a college student at Carleton College studying Cognitive Science. I highly value a liberal arts education and the ability to explore different pursuits.

Apart from my academic pursuits, I am actively involved in extracurricular activities on campus. One of my greatest passions is music, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Carleton Choir, as well as Chamber Choir. I’m proud to have performed pieces such as Mozart’s The Requiem in D minor and The World Beloved, a Bluegrass Mass, as well as touring in Chicago.

In addition to my love for music, I am also an enthusiastic member of the Birding Club. Exploring nature and observing different avian species fascinates me. The beauty of the natural world never fails to amaze me, and birding has become a way for me to connect with it on a deeper level.

Furthermore, I am involved in Model UN. I’ve traveled to Chicago as well as Montreal to participate in some of the largest collegiate Model UN conferences. It’s very engaging to immerse myself in history and come up with viable solutions to complex problems.

I am also a part-time board game designer. I value innovation, and have self-published and released multiple free downloadable games online, several of which have won awards.
